What is a ballpark figure for psa 6 33 GCM Dizzy Dean?

As some of you may know I am currrently working on the 1933 George C Miller set and I was wondering what is a good estimate for a psa 6 Dizzy Dean. It is a pop 2 card and there is one currently up for auction by CleanSweep auctions. If anyone has any kind of insight I would appreciate your thoughts...Thanks

Maybe around $1,000?

VCP's highest graded sales are for a PSA 4 and SGC 50 - both went in the $2K neighborhood (albeit in 2008), so I'm guessing it might be quite north of $1,000.

Millers are not easy to find in high grade, especially with so many canceled. I would think a Dean in a 6 holder would get pretty pricey.

The George Miller also qualifies as a Dean Rookie Card as well.

Isn't Dean's RC the 1931 Metropolitan Studios (according to Old Cardboard)? Not sure if I should've put this on the other RC thread.

Whether that is Dean's rookie or not is pretty inconsequential. I would guestimate $3,500.

It's not your consignment, is it?

NO definetely not mine.....I'm hoping it might be as I will be a very interested bidder. I currently have a psa 5 Warneke, and psa 4's of Foxx, Klein, Odoul, and Stripp. The card belongs to the same person that has the near complete set for sale by CleanSweep in a different auction. The Dean came back as such a high grade that they listed it in an auction by itself. I am currently working on this set in psa 4 or better so this would definetely be a big card to obtain.

1933 George C. Miller Diz

Andy, the most recent PSA 4 went for $1,941 in 5/08 from Memory Lane. Clean Sweep sold an SGC 40 for $1,130 in May, 2008 also, while an SGC 50 went for $1,962 from Memory Lane in 9/08. My search doesn't reveal any sales in higher grades than those. It should be a pretty good test of the pre-war HOF market in the current economy. I would guess it goes for $4,000+--we'll see.

Good luck,

Larry
