Which auction house has best results?

I know there have been threads like this before, but I am going to sell one of my baseballs and can't really decide which auction house to consign to. I sent Legendary 3 emails and never received a reply, they were my first choice, Heritage did reply back but I feel like that website is hard to navigate and find the auctions you're actually looking for. I want to make sure this ball is seen and gets high bids.

Any thoughts or advice on this?

I prefer Hunt Auctions

I would say Heritage,Legendary or REA, which is coming in the spring.

Huggins & Scott Auctions :)

Goodwin is more for cards, poster has a ball, so I say u could go with about 5-10 diff houses and you'd be fine.

I think the type/value of the ball really matters when selecting an auction house.

It's my sealed 1912 Ban Johnson American League ball.

nice...

Brandon............Dang, that's a sweet box.....like a time capsule. I'd really hope for REA, but otherwise use Legendary or Hunt. I've had good results with them both. I can't believe Legendary didn't reply...maybe call them.

In the September pick-up thread, you showed this ball in a box together with a ball that had been removed from a box. Were the two boxes identical in design?

Yes, the ball that was shown was one of two baseballs I purchased. He had opened one up 20 years ago or so he said and the other remained in a trunk. The boxes are identical so the ball inside has to be the same, if not in better shape.

Here is a picture of both boxes and the ball, they taped the seal of the opened box unfortunately, but it's still in great shape.

Beautiful photo of those balls. MAN, I can't wait to see that book you're working on!

Thanks Lance, I got great shots of that box, it will definitely be in there, I've never seen one in better shape. I would keep it but I need funds for the book! Don't really need two of the same thing lying around when it could pull a few thousand bucks :)

When does the book come out. I will be purchasing one for sure:)

Thanks guys! I'm shooting for early 2012, still need some pictures of a couple rare baseballs and have run into some stubborn owners who feel the public shouldn't be allowed to view their historically important stuff in fear of forgeries blah blah blah crap. Also decided to include World series baseballs (1978-present) and All-Star game balls. I figure they were used in actual World Series/All-Star Games so they should be included. (plus I got a great deal on a complete set!! lol) The pages will not be as detailed as the regular league balls though. probably a few to a page instead of just one.

The more the merrier, I say! Seeing the early balls in larger clear photos will definitely be a treat, but the info junkie in me wants to see photos/dates/manufacturers for as many balls as possible, even if I have to get out my magnifying glass :D

In the meantime, thank you again for all your help in pinning down dates for just about every ball we can find to ask about. Keep up the good work!
