1956 Yellow Basepath Pins
Does anyone have a gauge on the popularity or worth of these pins. I just sent in Musial to PSA (hoping for an 8 to 10) and was wondering its' worth.
Thanks Tom |
I believe that they are fairly scarce but have a pretty limited collector base. I would think that the Musial in high grade like that would bring somewhere in the $150 - $200 range.
|
I'm curious as to any additional thoughts on these pins (pm15 I believe is their official name), as I just picked up a Yogi Berra and two Robin Roberts versions on a whim and have struggled to find information on them. $150-200 seems to be the right balpark on the Musial -- maybe a little low? -- from what I've seen from auction results I googled.
Mine have some light wear (though remain very displayable), so not sure it would be worth trying to get them graded, but out of curiosity, how much does the grading cost? |
The actual service is $17 for the 10 day turn around. Unfortunately, they are the only ones that do it.
|
Ugh, that's how much I paid for all 3 pins!
|
How scarce is this set?
Recently bought a collection of the 1956 Yellow basepath pins. Are there some pins that are harder than others? Seems these would be somewhat hard to grade....anyone have experience submitting these to PSA?
|
I don't know about their value, but I recommend you get some advice here as to whether the value of graded yellow basepath pins is sufficiently enhanced by grading to make it worth the expense and effort.
|
Every once in awhile PSA HAS a collector's special that includes pins. If you catch one you will save a lot of money on standard fees.
