Marquard rookie questions...
I know according to most lists that Marquard's rookies fall into the year 1908. One of which is a minor league issue. One is the Hall's Studio Giants Cabinet, and the other is the E91B which is designated between the years 1908-10.
Now given the fact that Marquard only played one game in 1908, would it be safe to assume that there was not a E91B of him produced in 1908? Also, would it be unreasonable to guess that the Hall's Studio cabinets maybe were produced over a couple of years, or maybe 1909, rather than 1908? If so, would it be reasonable to treat any 1909 card of Marquard as his Major League rookie card? More specifically, I'm referring to the 150 series t206's... |
I believe E91B was produced in 1909.

I'm not sure about the Hall's Studio Cabinet, but my initial thoughts are that they don't look like "baseball cards", they look like photograph's. Does anyone even have a Hall's Studio for Marquard? I don't see any graded by PSA or SGC. |

I prefer this one from his two poses in the T206 set:

Thanks Dan. That helps alot. While compiling my own list of what I consider acceptable rookie cards, I've run into a bit of confusion, as far as what's a card, what's impossible to find, so on and so on, with some of the stuff around that time. Speaker was another that I wasn't sure of. Thanks again.

I believe that the Hall's Studio card of Marquard must have been produced in 1909 rather than 1908 (assuming that one exists, I have never seen a copy either).
