1973 Topps Mike Schmidt RC Question

I am looking for a Schmidt RC in a PSA 9. I see both the regular version and the OPC version. Is one more valuable than the other in the same grade? If so, how much more in a PSA 9 grade?

Thanks for the help.

I would guess that the OPC in a "9" would be much tougher but there is probably more interest in his Topps than OPC card so the price levels might be fairly even with these offsetting points.

OPC has a pretty good premium over the Topps, Good luck finding a OPC in a 9 as they typically have rough cuts.

As for cards that typically have rough cuts, does PSA still reduce the grade for them or do they allow it w/o penalty?

I believe you can still get a high grade with a rough cut OPC from PSA. If I'm not mistaken, Rick Probstein's PSA 10 Gretzky RC has a rough cut.

I don't think they dock the grade for rough cuts. I had a few PSA 8 1954 Topps cards that had rough cuts. My '54 Topps Hank Aaron actually had a rough cut across the top edge that chipped the entire length of the colored border on both the front and back, yet somehow it was still graded a PSA 8. Then again that might just be PSA for you...

Here's the only OPC card I own, a PSA 9 "rough cut"
