3 Old Judge Questions
Hello all, hopefully this isn't too difficult as a small group of questions.
#1 - Are there any known examples of SIGNED OJ's and are there any scans available? #2 - Is there at least one documented example of every player on the original cabinet list? #3 - Are there multiple poses for cabinets or only one per player (and is there an official tally somewhere)? I also wouldn't mind turning this into a show me thread for OJ Cabinet cards just to see what's out there with board members. Thanks in advance! |
1. Yes, a signed Connie Mack. Large black fountain pen signature on the back
2. No, for example, no known N172 or N173 of Wilson, Omaha 3. Yes, there are multiple poses. There are at least five different Keefe poses on cabinets. |
There are also known n173 poses that there are no known n172s for

A little more on question #2. As you are likely aware, the N173 checklists (1888 & 1889) list players from National League, American Association, and the Western Association. While most of the players found on the N.L. lists are currently catalogued as having cabinets, the American Association is slightly less and Western Association examples being far fewer. Teams like the Chicago Maroons that disbanded in 1888 are next to impossible to find (I think there is only one Maroon cabinet existant even though 17 players are listed on checklist).

Thanks for the responses. This kind of info is what makes the OJ series so interesting. Please post scans of you're cabinets if you've got em! :)

Its also this knowledge from fellow board members that makes Net54 so valuable and a pleasure to be a part of.
