Sorry-I just checked my Gelman stuff and do not have an example. I actually can't recall seeing any examples of his sig or handwriting. Maybe Jeff Shepherd has something but I think he is away on a project at the moment.

Woody Gelman

Leon:

I have some Woody Gelman handwritten "notes". When he and Rich Egan were planning on doing a new Standard Catalog in the early 1970's, I was the guy doing the research on all the Topps issues.

I prepared some questions for Woody that I submitted to him before my visit to Topps in Brooklyn to do my research.

He just answered my questions, such as "no" "yes", "can't remember" and the like. There MAY be a sentence in the notes, not sure.

If this works, I can try to dig the notes out. I recently moved and tons of stuff is still packed away.

LMK if you want me to dig.

Gelman handwriting

I'm the one Leon mentioned trying to find some examples of Gelman's (lousy) handwriting to compare to some stuff I have. If it isn't too much trouble, could you send me some examples or post it here, whichever is easier for you. George Vrechek vrechek@ameritech.net
