1933 Goudey
Traded for this beauty over 20 years ago...about 7 years before I bought my first T206. This Grove card was a bit of an obsession of mine back in the day, before i even went to college. It's nice to have a chance to show it off...

Here is a scorecard from the 4th win of his streak :
PS - as I read thru the boxscore on Retrosheet.org, I am struck by the fact that the game went 2 hours 16 minutes and featured 77 plate appearances, that's at average of 1 minute 46 seconds each. I keep score when I go to games, as I would hope most of you do, I also chart many of the stats from games I see. The 31,213 plate appearances that I have scored have averaged 2 minutes 20 seconds, that's nearly one third longer than in Grove's day. Also, he pitched a complete game while allowing 13 hits. Doug |
