Henry Yee Auctions on E-Bay

It appears that Henry's latest group of auctions has just been listed on e-bay. Does anyone else find it incredible that only four hours after listing the below item, the current price jumped from $0.99 to $444 when it has just recently been harped on in another Net 54 thread how e-bay bidders all snipe and wait until the last few seconds to place serious bids?

Very intertesting................

That bidder (293) also bid on 119 of his items. Interesting indeed.

his following

Henry definitely has his own following on ebay as well as regular ebayers. It wouldn't surprise me to see some bidders almost solely bidding on his stuff. Great items get great prices...

He always runs a spectacular auction and yes, his following is huge.

henry yee auctions

a very select group of people it must be who only enjoy the hobby one week a year and like overpaying on everything they win
ive been commenting on that for 10 years and no one can make me believe that he has people who go on ebay only to look for his stuff once a year and the rest of the year these people dont have computers
and to top it off he gets higher bids on his stuff then rea mastro etc etc
so not only do his bidders only turn on their computers once a year but they also choose not to get catalogues from any auction houses
just my usual yearly commentary

Maybe he'll take consignments? I purchased an items from him last year that was sold on ebay a week later for 1/3 the price.

I'd bought from Henry before as well. Quality stuff and a good communicator. Shiller?, I'm doubtful. The man's the Tzar of Type 1s.

I too am a big Henry fan. Even though I'm not a major client, he treats me great and the shipping is lightning fast. In all my dealings he's been a class act.

A 20% BP adds up quickly.

I consigned an item to Henry last year, and he did VERY well for me. Ive known him for a long time, and he seems like an honest , upfront person, and nobody can question the quality of his material and auctions.

And for those who don't turn their computers on for a year, saves on the electricity and the chance at viruses and such other shenanigans.;)

deadballera 06-20-2011 03:09 PM

I've bought several items over the years from him.

Always look forward to his listings...

Fast service, great communication

We had a poster on here not too long ago that fit that very description.

He wasn't a shiller, but he loved to interfere with auctions for some reason or another.

Think he was a might bit unstable.

Don't know why Ebay doesn't penalize retractions or create a limit on them. Would cut down on shilling and the element that just likes to be a pain in the ass.

If I was Henry and I knew about his history, I would block him right away.
