(I posted this in one of the B/S/T forums a little bit ago, but figured it should really go here. I apologize in advance if this upsets anyone.)
I am bidding on some items in tonight's Hunt auction for a friend. I just realized that it is possible to look at OTHER bidders' bid profiles, including their current bids and maximum proxy bids. (also includes name, address, phone and email for the bidder.) I'm *stunned* that this is possible. I can't believe I'm the first person to discover this and am shocked the company hasn't done something to prevent it. Am I the only one? |
I just called Hunt Auctions and talked to some guy that didn't seem to believe me...until I emailed him a link that showed how easy it is.
Let's see what happens. I'm not a big player in these things, so I'm more amused than upset, but I suspect others might come down on the other side of that line. |
Yea, it's super easy to do. It's because Hunt has an archaic internet site.
|
That's horrible. Even for Hunt.
(I can't figure out how to do it though) |
Nevermind, just figured it out. Wow.
|
How does it work? The quickest way to get it fixed is to explain how it works on here.
|
Please wait until the auction is over to pull the curtain back. :)
