"Morrie" was the Athletics' first choice in the '50 draft. He came through for them too, winning 11 while losing only 4 in '51, his rookie season. Morrie had one other try in teh Majors and that was with the Dodgers in '49, when he appeared in 10 NL games. In '41, his first year in pro ball, Morrie had a 16-7 record. He was in the service 4 years, during which period he was wounded several times. Injuries troubled Morrie in '52.
