New Variation for Cleveland Old Judge Collectors
1 Attachment(s)
I just got my lots from REA and in Lot 35, a group of 66 Old Judges, I found a new variation of Ed McKean. On pose 314-3, instead of McKean for the name, the card identifies the player as "Ickean", possibly his icky twin. This is not a scrape-the name is incorrect in the picture.

Congrats on the lot Jay. I noticed a card of Billy Serad in the lot. I saw a raw fair conditioned one with a similar photo quality as yours sell for around 7-800$ in an ebay auction. Is his card tougher then others?

nice
Nice catch Jay...

Matt-All International League cards are tough. The Serad-Toronto is one of the easier of a tough group. That card is a dup for me and is available to anyone who may need it.

Nice pick-up Jay. That is a neat grouping of cards from an olderl collection. I wonder if the collector (Ron Menchine) who had them since the late 60s/early 70s purposely collected 1889 cards or if perhaps they are from one find that stayed intact over the years from a smoker who amassed the collection largely in 1889. Furthermore, seems as though the smoker was buying from cases that were mostly pink tinted cards. Then again, perhaps Ron Menchine preferred pink tinted cards and hence a collection of mostly 1889 cards. Either way, nice cards.
