Baseball book collectors/experts. I would like some help Please.

Ive seen the DJ for the first edition of the CLASSIC Eight Men out. Well, I picked this edition up, which on copyright page, says Second printing, September 1963. Has anyone seen/owned one w this DJ? IM just curious. DJ has some tears, and a small hole and sticker residue, but nice overall. Mainly, I have NEVER read this, just seen the movie, so selling it later, maybe/maybe not.

Can anyone give me info on this DJ edition, value, etc? Any help appreciated.

I can't recall seeing this variant dust jacket (although there is always the chance it is packed away in some box, and I've forgotten about it). I seem to recall seeing a second printing with the same dust jacket as the first printing, but I'm not certain on that. EMO was published as a Book of the Month Club edition with a different jacket in about 1977.

I don't know whether your second printing would be a 1963 BMOC edition: does the dust jacket have a price on the flap and is there a blindstamp on the rear of the boards?

There are a couple of second printings listed on ABEbooks, but unfortunately, no scan of the dj is included. $65 for a fine /fine copy.

In the book world, and especially with modern books, typically only first printings have real value. Even then, EMO is a very common first printing and most collectors (of which there seem to be fewer all the time) have a copy.
