1952 Topps Campos, Blackstar..a couple of questions.
Aloha! I don't post much. I'm primarily a reader/researcher. There is a psa 2 52T Campos(black star on back) on ebay right now. I have owned a couple in the past but sold/traded them off. The one on ebay looks a little fishy to me, can't put my finger on it. Does the slice/damage to the right border signify tampering? Does the ink in "Made in USA" look a little too fresh and dark? How about the fresh appearance of the ink on the star itself? How difficult would it be to stamp over a normal Campos and then pass the grading test, and get slabbed? Would the fresh ink be detectable under special lights?
Also another question......I remember seeing a slabbed Campos I think it was sgc and the star on the left was black?? Has anyone else ever noticed this?...Maybe just the sixties catching up with me. Aloha, and Mahalo for your interest. Enjoy the hobby. Dave. Marx said, "Outside of a dog, a book is mans' best friend...Inside of a dog it's too dark to read." (Groucho that is) |
