My first Pre-War project...'34 Goudey set PSA 4+

I recently completed a mid-grade 1955 Topps Baseball set and LOVED it! I've found that I really enjoy putting vintage sets together so now i've got the bug, lol. Got a few different projects going now including this one which is my first venture into the pre-war era.

Got a few coming in the mail but we all gotta start somewhere and here's my first...

Travis: I admired your scorched earth assembly of a bloody beautiful '55 Topps set over on the post-war side and am amused to see that you're now adventuring into the older stuff. That's how a lot of us got hooked, you know. In a few months you'll be tiptoeing around the odd M116 and Cracker Jack, then picking up a handful of T206s and before you know, what the hey, you're scouting beyond the turn-of-the-last century eyeing Old Judges and A&G's and Lord knows what else. Enjoy the ride!

Good luck in your 1934 Goudey hunt! I am 63% of the way there all in SGC grade 4-6.

I find mid-grade the best and most affordable way to go for my taste. Most of the faults do not take away from the aesthetic value of the card.

Good luck again!!

Rob

don't put it past me, lol. I'll admit that I've been enticed by those old classics like the T206's and Cracker Jacks and maybe even an old judge. Those wouldn't be set projects but it'd be cool to have a couple :) I sometimes try to sit and think "where will my collection be in 10 years??" gonna be fun to find out!

much agreed! lets face it, the higher the grade the better but you always have to take into consideration what you can reasonable afford too. And I'm with ya, usually the 4's and 5's still look pretty nice and can be had for very reasonable prices as well :) thanks for the comment Rob!

Well checked the mail today and got a couple real nice ones to add to this new venture of mine. Here they are!
