REA Spring - T206 Overall PSA 5 "Brown" Lenox

This Lenox doesn't look brown to me:
http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...x?itemid=18608

The little splatter of stuff on the back looks brown, but the advertisement just looks like faded black.

Opinions please...

It's not so nobody bid...:)

Cheers,

It's definetly brown.

wonkaticket 04-14-2011 09:07 AM

Tim you have no idea what you're talking about again go back to the kids T206 table....I also think it's not a real Lenox buyer beware....;)

I also think the Drum SGC 70 is bad...whole REA auction just filled with bad cards....guys walk away now...

Haha, okay, point taken.
I still don't see it though - must be my monitor. :)

My monitor makes it look black too. Even what I guess is the side by side comparison pic. Oddly in the side by side one the one on the right looks brown in the tiny thumbnail pic.

One of the downsides to digital, many monitors display things differently.

The stand alone reverse looks good but side to side it's hard to tell any difference.

I'd have a lot more confidence bidding had PSA designated it as a Brown Lenox.

None of the Brown Lenox ever look obvious in scans. I have personally had this card in my hand and it is ABSOLUTELY a BROWN LENOX.

I do agree the scans make it look iffy but trust me, it is BROWN.

Also Rob would never advertise it as a BROWN if there was any question of it being BROWN at all.

Also let it be known that I don't care what that wonkaworm says, if he has a problem with me he can show up at my booths tomorrow at the Oaks show and we can discuss it face to face!!

Seems like every time a "Brown" Lenox comes up for auction this debate ensues about whether its brown or faded black... Personally I find it quite hilarious that people pay more for a card where there is a color shade difference that is barely visible... So to all you "brown" Lenox collectors, please keep this up, as collecting cardboard would not be as entertaining without you...

That's a pretty broad stroke, implying that it's tough to tell every brown Lenox from a black. Colors on a card in a scan can vary for a number of reasons, so it's understandable why sometimes questions arise. I can speak from experience when I say that the (very few) examples of a brown Lenox I've held in my hand were obviously that color. So though the color difference might be "barely visible" in a scan to some folks, it's not always that way when the card is in hand.

Yeah; sometimes those computer images simply don't do justice to color shades.
