REA is up!
the on line full catalog is there. The most epic Golf Card auction I have ever seen. Start prices are high though but then again they should be.
Did anyone win anything from the Lew Lipset Auction? |
Nope, I wonder who won the 1898 Vardon SGC 50/4 in Lew's Auction?

It wasn't me. I was the underbidder on the Vardon card. I did win this in Lew's auction..... Lot 446. George Beldam The Worlds Champion Golfers: Their art disclosed by the Ultra Rapid Camera. A group of 4 volumes from an 11 volume set. Each 8 1/4" x 4 3/4" book includes a 24" folding plate with 36 sequential photos (as a flicker book) showing the golfers swing in motion and 16 pages of descriptive material of what’s inside. The volumes include 1 of Walter Hagan, 2 different of Roger Wethered and 1 of Joyce Wethered. About excellent condition. http://www.oldjudge.com/site/oldjudg...n/lg/446-a.jpg http://www.oldjudge.com/site/oldjudg...n/lg/446-b.jpg I have to say.... maybe because I was really looking forward to seeing the Zugay collection in the REA auction..... there is a little bit of a let down for me. It doesn't seem like there is any golf card being offered in REA that matches the coolness of the Vardon card in Lou's auction. |
Joe,
I know how you feel. I was also an underbidder on the Vardon. I had my eye on those books too. I would be interested in one of them, if you decide to break-up the lot. I wish there was more individual listings in the REA auction. I could use one or even a couple of the cards in some of the various auction listings, but not all of them. Thanks, Jason |
Jason, I posted another thread about bidding partners, let me know what you might be interested in...of course with our luck it will all be the same stuff. :D

Dave,
I just scanned through the listing online pretty quickly, I will have to really go through the listing once I receive my REA catalog. You are right though, we probably both be interested in the same cards. Thanks, Jason |
