The black armband was worn by many ballplayers at the start of the 1909 season in honor of A's catcher, Doc Powers, who died on April 26, 1909.

Harry Pulliam is probably the correct answer since he passed on in July 29, 1909.

The E95 cards were printed in the Summer/Fall of 1909, as indicated by Cy Morgan identified with the A's.
At the start of the 1909 season Morgan was pitching for Boston AL.
