FS: 1953 Topps Mantle PSA 6 - moved to EBAY - ENDS TOMORROW
1 Attachment(s)
Although I just got this not long ago, and was considering this to be a cornerstone of my collection, I have to sell this. I was hoping to sell all the other stuff I had listed on the board, but since I didn't get enough from those, I will need to venture here.
For sale is a gorgeous 1953 Topps Mickey Mantle #82 PSA 6 for $1,700 dlvd. Current VCP is $1,810.39 and the last two EBay sale this past week went for $1,725 and $1,726. Sorry, no trades at this time. Jimi |
'53T mantle redux
Price reduction before heading to EBay tomorrow. I'd rather save on fees and sell to you guys. Great price!
|
Moving to EBay today after two people just offered ridiculously low offers for them. I'll repost on the EBay thread once I've listed it.

Apparently bottom feeders abound. There is a difference between a "fair" offer and an "absurd" offer. Good luck on the card!
|
Thank you! Someone already bid on it the first day I listed it.
|
Darn!
I've been so busy lately that I havent had a chance to get on, wish I would have seen this, I think we would have been able to work out a deal off EBAY. I've always wanted this card in my collection. Good Luck!
|
That stinks! Sorry, I was a little quick at getting it listed. Feel free to bid though. :)
|
The card ends SUNDAY morning. Good luck!
|
Ends in about 40 minutes. Good luck!!
|
Ebay came through for you! If your price of $1700 still stands I am in...lol
|
I'm sorry to hear you are leaving the hobby Matt. You will be missed!

I'm not sure what happened. Once two people lowballed me, I knew I had to throw it on EBay. There have been some others sell for about what mine sold for though, so it's not like it was a ridiculous amount over. But those two offered $1,400 for it, and it sold for $2,225, so think about how much I would have lost out on it. lol I won't complain. We all lose some money on other transactions, too, though. I'm just glad to be on the other end on this one. :)

$1400
For the record, I did not make an offer. But I would hardly consider $1400 minus fees a low-ball offer, especially considering this "6" had two top soft corners and was o/c....
Bottom line it is a very popular card and on any given week if you have two aggressive bidder this can result in an above average sales $ which you got, congrats... |
I actually wasn't referring to you, as someone else was had a more aggressive approach. You are certainly correct though. My wonder is if two people had a PSA registry battle. That happened with me not long ago on a tough PSA 8 '62T common that I paid less than $50 for. It sold for $500. I had no idea that it would go for that. I was just hoping to get back what I put into it, much like the '53T Mantle. That registry is crazy sometimes! :)

I would....especially since this is one of Mantle's most POPULAR cards! You should have a stable of buyers lined up for this puppy. The $1,400 offer was looking for a quick flip..... PS - I would ESPECIALLY think it was a lowball offer since All Star Cards is currently paying $1,350 for that particular card in that particular grade, sight unseen. |
Quick Flip
The last few cards in PSA 6 have sold between $1600-1800; if someone were looking to flip this card after fees they would have made themselves a whopping $100-$200 or so, and that's assuming the right buyer comes along. If you are on an internet board like this and aren't out toe buy a '53 Mantle per se but see an offering for one I would think $1400 is not out of bounds to offer, yes a little low, but not "low ball." To me "low ball" is offering half or less of a cards' market value, not 10-25 percent...
|
Any offer could be considered lowball from the sellers perspective. I prefer to just says thanks for the offer and move on. From a buyers perspective, it's not an insult, but an attempt to communicate what they will pay for the item....take or leave it, but end it there...just my two cents.
