could anyone suggest good books/sites
I have been collecting for nearly 35 years, and for the first thirty plus I have collected the newest latest and greatest sets.
Recently I have gone strictly to vintage and love it. My question is could anyone point me in the direction of some good books or sites that include detailed information on prewar sets and early issues. I have learned alot just poking around here, and looking to learn more. thanks Dave |

Second the motion! Good advice, Jason. Poking around in our archives doesn't hurt either, plus see if you can find some copies of Lew Lipsett's publications.

Hi Dave,
Old Cardboard, as mentioned above, is a great resource! Some of the links on these pages are also worth a look if you have any interest in T205 or T206: http://www.t206.org/resources.php http://www.t205.org/links.php Best, -Trae |
Wow great responses already thanks alot
Trae I have been on both, the T205 site actually got me interested in putting together the set. thanks to all Dave |
Lew Lipset's Encyclopedia of Baseball Cards Vol. I, II, and III.

I agree on the Lipset 3 volume in one suggestion. That and the Standard Catalog by Bob Lemke are great companion texts.

+1 for Mr. Lipset's work. Scot Reader's paper on T206s, if you collect them.
Then add Mr. Sugar's Sports Collectors Bible, 3rd or 4th edition. After that, The Standard Catalog. Add Horne's ZeeNut work if you're after ZeeNuts. Those would keep you busy... |
