Betty Dragon
Today I received an email from Betty's daughter-in-law Michelle informing me that Betty passed away from gastric cancer on February 26. Betty was a successful scientist and a pasionate collector. I knew her as a collector of T206s and T207s, but I'm sure her interest extended to other sets as well. My condolences to her family; she will be dearly missed.

I also heard about Betty's passing today from her daughter in law. I made many T206 trades with Betty over the years. She will be greatly missed.

sad news
I was very sad to read this, as we've lost another great collector.
My thoughts and prayers are with her, her family & friends. God Bless us all, Bill Hedin |
I didn't know Betty well but she did buy several cards from me over the years. One that stands out is a T207 Donlin. What a terrible shame. RIP.

Really sad news. Betty was quite a joy to talk to. She was very knowledgeble about pre-war cards and had a very nice collection. To her family my prayers are with you in these toughest of times.

Signed T206 Cards
She was also passionate about collecting autographed pre-war cards, and had a pretty good collection going. She beat me at auction on this signed Nap Rucker, but was later willing to trade it to me for a signed T201 Rucker and a signed T206 Snodgrass. I had no idea she was ill, and am sad to lose someone who shared my passion for signed pre-war cards.

I recently received an e-mail about Betty's passing as well. Her passion for T206 cards will always be remembered by all T206 collectors. Her favorite player in the T206 set, Simon Nicholls with bat. Even though I lived on the east coast, & she's worked & lived in California, we were very close friends. When she came to N.J., on business, she always found a way to come visit me. We would meet for dinner & talk tobacco cards. She was a knowledgable collector of pre-war cards, but most of all, she was a great person.
