1957 Bobby Schantz photo question

Does anyone know what type of uniform Bobby Schantz is wearing on his 1957 Topps card? I have never seen a Yankees jersey like that. Is it a minor league jersey? I can't seem to find any info on the internet so I thought I would throw it out there. Don't have the actual card so I can't post a scan. Thanks!

My guess is that the artist at Topps turned his KC A's uniform into a Yankee uniform.
