Question on Mantle card... I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of the 1969 Topps Mickey Mantle card #500, the white letter variation. Is this version considered "rare", and just how rare is it. Thanks~ ~Bill |

it is indeed rarer and also considerably more valuable ($2,000 Beckett high book vs. $350 for the 'normal' one). As far as how rare exactly, in terms of a print run or saying there's about 1 white letter for every so many normal ones, I couldn't say... |

Lately, a PSA 5 white letter goes for around $500 while a yellow is around $100. Personally, I think the yellow version looks better. :) |

WL Mantle 69 While scarcer than the regular card, like the other WL variations in the set, they are not hard to find . |

Rare white letter Mantle It's "rare" only in the context of '60's Topps, and will probably always be more valuable than the yellow letter version, but I wouldn't be stocking a dozen or so away to put the kids through college! PSA has graded 763 of them, although only 46 in "8" or better. Larry |

69 Mantle White might not be rare....But a signed white letter has to really be rare...Just picked this one up last week...only one I have ever seen. http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...3/09317124.jpg |
