A new Rose Postcard and vintage generic baseball ones
1 Attachment(s)
Recently I have started collecting some old generic baseball type postcards. This is a new "Rose" postcard. Show some generic, vintage baseball postcards if you care too. I/we would love to see them....
|
seriously, knock it off Leon!

My favorite generic postcard...it is stamped with "Gagnier SS Lincoln"....I have two of these and they are both Gagnier so I don't know if any others were made for other players on the 1908 Lincoln Team...btw Gagnier would go on to play in the Federal League.

Posting a few of my Lincoln cards for the Brooklyn Feds collector who PM'd Me.
Gagnier is 3rd from right on the bottom row http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...colnteampc.jpg Not sure if Gagnier is in this one, but he was on the team in 1908..it's possible he's the player 4th from right in the back row http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...lincolnpc4.jpg And here's a horse and buggy for Leon http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...guestreet3.jpg |
If only I had a postcard worthy enough for this thread

My great-grandfather's team. He's in the front row, center. I had the postcard digitally "fixed" & printed on 12 X 15 photograph paper for display. Cool bunch of postcards guys!

Hi-
Really cool postcards shown so far! Here are two of my favorites. The first is a calendar ad from 1914, and the second is the "Never Was" and the "Has Beens" team picture. Alan |
Thanks Leon. I feel very fortunate to have it in my collection.
|
I also have a postcard of my great grandfather's team..This is Exeter, Nebraska

Some Town Team. I don't own the PC anymore. Guy 2nd from Right top row kinda reminded me of a young Honus Wagner.

Here's a postcard of my great-grandfather batting for the Lacygne, Ks team.
|
Dan & Clint- Very nice. All three teams appear to be from the same era. I'm guessing 1910-1920? Do either of you have a specific date on your RPPC? At least we know who to credit/blame, depending on your outlook, for our addictions.
|
Thanks Jeremy, I'd love to get one of those jackets your Great-grandfather has on. I have two postcards of Great-granddad and they were glued into a scrapbook so I don't know the exact age but I believe 1909-1910 is pretty close. I'll have to ask my father if he knows this weekend.
|
Jeremy, I'm not sure of a specific date, but it has to be right around 1910...There is no one left for me to ask about it.
