How to load multiple free pictures on eBay

I thought this would be worth noting since I saw it mentioned in another thread right now, and many people may not be sure how to do this, so I'll add upon Vargha's good advice. I'm far from a techie expert, but I use it regularly and it works great for me, to get as many free pictures on your eBay listing.

1.) Upload pictures to a hosting service. I use Photobucket.

2.) With each picture you upload, it will be tagged with an "HTML Link."

3.) When you are making your eBay listing, in the area where you type your description, there is a tab which says "HTML." Click on that tab.

4.) Copy the "HTML Link" from Photobucket and Paste it in its entirety into your eBay listing, wherever you would like it to appear on your listing.

The pictures will appear directly in your listing. To show you an example of how this works, here's a recently completed auction of mine:

Scooter... Appreciate the information. I sold some items on ebay years ago and was thinking about "eventually" doing further selling. I remember stugglng with the picture thing.

Thanks for this! I've been meaning to do this in my auctions for awhile now.

Thanks Scott!!! You're going to be saving me a lot of money on my listings. :)

Glad to help, guys! Feel free to shoot me a message if anyone needs a hand with this. It was a bit confusing at first for me, but easy enough after doing it a couple of times.

A few hundred listings later, and I'm saving a good deal of listing fees, 15 cents at a time!

I probably list 10 or more items per week that require me to use the $1.00 picture fee for 12 pics...you're literally going to be saving me at least $50 a month or more. Thanks again!!!

Scott, you're Robinhood... Thanks for helping us, stick it to the Man for a change.

dan--hmm i thought u were more tech-savvy than this. this is grounds for getting de-modded imo. no one should be using ebay's photo feature. if you use your own hosting site you can have as many image as big and as detailed as you want.

Well and the good thing is you're unlimited with how many pics you can put up at that point. I've literally had an auction up with 40 pics at once.

I am Barney Fife to Leon's Sheriff Andy....Matt and Brian are the brains behind this outfit.

so how long before the 'bay disallows external photo links and forces sellers to pay for each individual picture they upload?

I've been doing this for years it seems...I'm not sure how they would stop it unless they actually went through each listing and pulled down the auctions that had it?

There are enough people not doing it that eBay isn't too concerned right now would be my guess.

question

I just listed stuff on ebay and I couldn't find the "html" tab in the description area. Are you using the simple format or the other fancier one?

George, try this -I did a screen shot of where the tabs are, and circled the "standard" vs. "HTML" tab.
