Buddy Lewis has passed away.
 

I don't know if this is a duplicate post, but I always found it fascinating Lewis was a pilot during World War II and won the Distinguished Flying Cross:

My condolences to his family, friends and fans. I've added him to my prayer list. I remember hearing stories about players such as he from my Dad who collected Playball cards out of the packs. I'm especially proud to know that a gentleman like Buddy was active defending our country.
