My first T204 Ramly

After nearly 2 years looking, I finally landed my T204 Ramly Mordecai Brown. I honestly have to admit, I didn't think it would've been that hard to find a nice looking example, but I was wrong. I did enjoy the hunt.

It was a great transaction all around with Scott Brockleman. He responded to my emails promptly, and shipped it out without waiting for my check to clear. First class seller all around.

They are gorgeous looking cards, so feel free to post some Ramly's if you have any.

Tony

Tony--Congrats on a beautiful Three Finger. Well worth the wait.

The four I have posted are interesting for their grades. Street gets a 60 and Manning a 50, although each image has a smudge, yet the borders and filigree are EX. Sebring and Lord have flawless images, but slightly less appealing borders, hence they get a 50, I guess. Ah, the subjectivity of grading.

I hope some of the other 204 collectors post--hint, hint, Bill.

BTW, Ken, I've got some dups I'll trade you for that Burkett. Very nice card!

Cheers, Mike

Thanks, Mike! Think I'm keepin' him, though. :)

Brian,

Is that the one from Auctionzip? That is strong looking card for a "3."

Yep. That's the one from Kelly Auctions / Auctionzip. I'm pleased with its appearance. It got a three due to the lower, left corner. Perfect balance of eye appeal and condition for me.

Love the looks of your T204 Brown. It's a very nice card. I have found Scott to be good to deal with too as he helped me land a big one for my collection. Congrats again!

When I saw his stats I couldn't believe they gave him a t204 card, it's such a small set missing so many great players yet here is this infielder who can't hit and can't field and he gets a card? The guy wasn't even that good in the minors. So basically I'm trying to get all of his t204 cards, then once I'm satisfied I have them all I'm going to destroy them and in the process, right a 101 year old wrong.

That's awesome.

rholmes 03-03-2011 05:48 PM

I have a couple dozen. I was rolling along with them and then some life things got in the way...stalled out...but I'll be active again before too long. About half the cards are from buys and trades on the board.

See gallery...

Here's mine before I sell/trade it. There's a sweet DiMaggio/McCarthy R313 I've had my eye on, so this one's gonna have to go I think.

Very funny! Until destruction time, you are officially a hoarder!
