Opinion wanted on 1908 am lgue pub wagner
I am trying to figure out if the printing on the front of this wagner makes it more desirable. "compliments of pat herbst, cigars" is printed on the front.
See the image, the post card was sent through the mail, but is in nice condition. Any idea if this makes it more desirable and what the approximate value is? https://www.gfg.com/wagnerf.jpg |
Honestly, I'd say less desirable, pc collectors usually want clean fronts and are much more forgiving for postally used backs.
That being said, great card! Please PM me if you are interested in selling or trading it as I collect them. Jeff |
also...
would probably be worth a little more if it were the Collister & Sayle stamp found on the schedule back variations vs. just some random guy's stamp.

Jeff is a lot more knowledgeable about postcards than I am, but with that being said, if there were a Lajoie American League Publishing PC that had that "extra" printing on it, I'd value it more than one of his regular cards from that series.
I have the Lajoie below that has an ad on it and paid a premium for it. In fact, I think I got it from ... Jeff. Edited to add: Didn't see Jeff's second post with Collister & Sayle examples when I posted mine. |
value?
Jeff,
What do you think its worth? I told the guy I guessed about $800-$1,000. Am I low or right on? Dave |
I think you're low, I just sent you a PM.
|
Jeff--I think David is low as well.
BTW, did you get an email from me @a week ago? Can you shoot me a response: mpeich@comcast.net. Thanks, Mike |
IMO, much more desirable with advertising on the front, especially with it being tobacco related.
|
Trust Jeff.
He knows his stuff and will give you an honest opinion. jmho. |
