1933 Goudey card: Real or not? 2 Attachment(s) Thoughts? |
Real- notice how at the top of the card there is actually a little yellow color coming from the bat that bleeds into the border. Not sure that i have seen a reprint with that characteristic. |
its a picture of a card. look at the front, its a card with another plain white border around it. The back was printed onto this picture, notice the back borders are way way too wide. |
I thought the other white was just a back drop for the card for pic purposes |
The characteristics look decent enough. One thing... Is the card printed on, or placed atop the sheet of white paper? I ask, Cuz the back photo isn't. |
Frank- good pick up on the back of the card |
its a strange reprint, never seen one like. |

I seemingly can't stress enough how risky it is buy raw Goudeys of Ruth & Gehrig. There are more different kinds of counterfeits of these cards then perhaps any other card out there and for some of them it is incredibly difficult to tell from a scan. I've been collecting for many years, have a high threshold for taking risks when it comes to buying cards and I would never buy a raw Goudey Ruth or Gehrig from someone I didn't know over the internet. |
Matt...very well said. Only buy raw Ruth's or Gehrig's from reputable sellers. |
Franks got a good point about the back border of the card - there is just too much border side to side and top to bottom. |
 And it's missing the red bleed-through. |
