Goldsmith Metal Display Sign (from old Sporting Goods Store)
2 Attachment(s)
Here's a nifty and unique item for the Equipment or Memorabilia Collectors out there. It's a super-rare Goldsmith Ad Sign, taken from an old Sporting Goods Store. Believed to be from the 1930s, this is the only example I have ever seen, and could be a one-of-a-kind piece.
This piece would look stunning displayed in front of an early Goldsmith Glove, Catcher's Mask, early Football, or Leather Football Helmet. Or it's a neat conversation piece displayed on its own. Either way, it's a rare opportunity to own a unique early art-deco style piece. The actual "Goldsmith" lettering measures 7" across, and the entire piece measures 9 1/2" wide. Priced to sell at $90 + 5 shipping = $95 total. The first person to email or PM me gets it. Thanks for looking! |
Bump....
Price reduced to $89 (includes shipping). One-of-a-kind attractive display piece! |
I'm curious why the s in Goldsmith would not be capitalized. When the company was Gold Smith the S was capitalized and it was two separate words. That continued when MacGregor joined the company to create MacGregor Gold Smith. Am I missing something here? Is it possible this is a different company than the Gold Smith that made uniforms?

Hmmm... can't answer that one. It was bought along with a bunch of other old store stock like gloves, catchers masks, shin guards, bats, various Rawlings POS materials, and a period H & B Bat Rack.
So I am pretty sure it pertains to the Sporting Goods Co. I could be wrong... that's how it was sold to me... thanks |
The font looks good to me...who knows
