I never knew the group had a chat room..just went there and eerybody is writting.chatting in EGYPTIAN whats up with that ???

Yup, it's all arabic and it says my password's wrong to get in! Seven people chatting up a storm in a different language!
Maybe they have a plan to get SCD back on track and want to surprise us!

In the upper left corner of the chat box there used to be a link that said "Net54 Forum Homepage" now there is a logo that says "Cairo AHL" with a website address. Last night when I clicked into the chat, there were four different rooms to pick from (all in Arabic) and now it's up to six. I don't know if they are hackers, terrorists or what, but this is really strange...

So it seems our hosting company, in trying to fix our issue, used the wrong url and we are in fact hosting some kind of Arabic chat room. Oh, how wonderful!! We have contacted the hosting company to let them know. Sorry for the issue....

Appears to me to be the typical SGC vs. PSA debate going on in Arabic.

The chat had been working just fine since last Friday and all of a sudden yesterday we get Arab chat. The chat hosting company seems to be as helpful as the customer service at my old internet provider. :rolleyes:

Well, perhaps you can change one thing. The name Net54 doesn't fit anymore, perhaps something like "Arabian Nights prewar baseball cards???"

I hear ya. I am always saying how cool the chat room is and now it's finally being used. I guess I should be happy? However, actually, on some nights of major auctions there have been up to 30 or more people in there at once. Those nights make the small cost well worth it.. Otherwise, I agree with Jeff, I think they are discussing PSA vs SGC again :eek:.

They're mostly complaining about trimmed cards in PRO holders.

Seems like a good time to ask. A lot of times i see the header read "1 user in chat". Seems kinda strange.

Rob- You must not be on the Groups elite email list. I have hired him as my new PR guy. He is doing a bang up job for me. I mean a REAL bang up job ;).

The chat really is a cool feature (when it's working), but it seemed like we only had about a half dozen members that used it regularly. People would come in and check it out once in a while, but it never seemed to really catch on.

I'm on the group's elite email list...he's a man of many opinions.

What do folks think about having directed scheduled conversations in the chat? e.g. a T206 discussion for an hour where we make sure to line up a few folks that have T206 expertise and then have it open where anyone can ask questions? Maybe once a month on different topics?

Egypt's internet shut down
 

Was just reading on Yahoo news that the Egyptian government shut down all of the internet in Egypt due to what is going on over there.

Is this why the chatroom is now empty? :)

Apparently the Arabic group which took over the chat room has now changed the room's "name" so you can't get in :mad:

We made it where there are no longer Arabic folks in our chat room. It's not working right now, at all, but we will be addressing that issue in the very near future.
