Glove help

Just purchased a glove...will try to post a picture tomorrow but will take any info. It looks like a child's size catcher mitt. It has a button back with two sizes to choose from. It says Star Player No. 577C Genuine Cowhide. There is a manufactures mark but it is hard to read...looks like "Graton and Knight"(?)...any info on year, value, etc. Please let me know.

Condition looks nice, but Mitts like this are not rare or especially in high demand. It's worth about $25 on a good day....

perezfan is correct in that is a very common style and the value is low. Glove dates to the 30's or 40's. Graton and Knight sold guns so it's possible they could have sporting goods store where they sold gloves as well. It most likely wasn't manufactured by them but would have been stamped with their name to be sold at their retail location.

Thanks guys for the info...purchased it for $10 at local swap meet. I like it and it displays well.

Nice purchase for $10... even tough these aren't as rare as you'd suspect, they do make for incredibly nice visual displays. Yours is in very nice shape, and has a great vintage look :)

Would you be interested in selling the glove at all? I know this is an old thread but I’ve been searching for a Graton and Knight glove since I’m a big collector of things made in Worcester. Thank you for your consideration!

This one gets my vote for the least likely thread ever to be revived after 13 1/2 years.

Good luck in your search!
