More than 1 account on Ebay

I have a question that was actually triggered by the tracking cards post earlier. Do you have or think it is okay to use more than one account on Ebay. I have on many occasions with the same seller found that they will list a card and sell it to another account only for it to pop up later under yet another account for more money which is a bit higher than average but somewhat reasonable. There is a sale from the first to the next and then nothing from there to the next but every card they buy ends up mysteriously on the last account for sale within a short time. I asked about this once and the guy told me he had the cards for several yrs. When I told him I found the sale on VCP from 2 weeks prior the guy became irate. No reason for that unless.....................

Could this be a way to defraud Ebay of the Ebay bucks program:confused:

I have two. For some reason IDK why Somerset Velvet blocked my first one as a bidder, even though I have 100% feedback and I am a powerseller. I have it for other various reasons, but it is totally acceptable to have more than one.

Multiple eBay user id's

I know that there are a few out there with multiple user names. Specifically 4 sharp corners, I believe has 3 usernames.

You don't get ebay bucks until after you pay for an item, but I guess it might not be too hard to get more than one paypal account and just sent the money back and forth between accounts. Seems like a lot of work for 2% though.

Not to mention the money you lose in seller's fees.

Shill bidding

I don't think they are manipulating the ebay bucks program. I think some ebayers are using the other account to bid on their own auctions. Shill bidding is against the ebay rules, and is illegal. They should put a reserve on their auctions instead.

2 accounts

Back a couple of years ago, when sellers could give negative feedback I had 2 accounts. 99% of my buying and 100% of my selling were on my main account, and I had a second account set up for bidding on items that were questionable or bidding on items from sellers with feedback that wasn't favorable. This way I could bid on a card that was ungraded with a blurry scan or I can bid on a card from a seller that had a lot of negative feedback, and if I got burned I could give a negative feedback and the seller could retaliate with a negative feedback, but I really didn't care.

Now, with sellers not able to give negative feedback I don't need the second account. I haven't used it for 2-3 years, so I don't know if it is still active. As far as using it to shill bid, most of my ebay items are BIN's with best offer.

I have two. I used one to buy and one to sell. I use to buy collections/big lots and re-sell the cards at small shows/flea markets. My card had my seller account listed on it so my customers could see my eBay auction but I didn't want people tracking what I was buying. I used my brothers email address to avoid any confusion:).......
