Tracking the Same Card's Sale

Every now and then a question arises about a vintage card for sale and another forum member will mention they owned it previously. Then maybe another says they owned it too.

Is there a card out there that has passed ownership 5 or more times? If so, how were they sold (Ebay, Auction House, private)? I have often wondered if the same card has changed hands so often that the auction fees and shipping ended up costing more than the last sale of the actual card itself.

I just think people have so many projects that get started, but decide not to finish. I haven't been into vintage all that long, and I have already started and sold off several failed sets because I got interested in something else. I truly admire those individuals with the patience to pursue the monster over a number of years.

Since we're discussing vintage cards, I would doubt that the shipping + auction fees would exceed the current value of the card. After all, the fees would be priced into the new value of a card each time that a sale is recorded. That is unless you mean the original value of the card... which would render the question a bit mute.

Not really. A couple sales of a $2,000 card with 22.5% juice and then a drop in price to $1,000 would get close. And yes, I mean final sale not original sale.
