Your Best Pickups of 2010

Unless my aging eyes missed it, usually by now we've had a "best pickups of the year" thread. Share with your fellow cardboard junkies some of the vintage beauties (no cougars, please) that you were stoked to pick up in 2010.

A good year for all. I am off cards for a while. This one was an easy pick.

Those are some beauty Ruths. Since we seem to be on a Ruth theme, here is my best pickup for 2010. I can't imagine myself topping this one for quite some time.

Great cards so far guys....and Jeff, please quit showing that Rose PC of Cobby.....but for a very bad investment, years ago, that would be in my collection. Such is life....glad it went to a die hard collector....

For me, it's hard to pick just one.....so here are a few....

Leon, again thanks for the Rose Cobb -- and if you ever get the urge to move that T213-1 Cobb PLEASE CALL IMMEDIATELY. :)

A few favorites..

A few of the nicer Hindu Slers I added and a better-than-the-grade-would-suggest Green Cobb.

This is a boxing item, but it's my favorite pickup of the year. Oversized albumen photo of Peter Jackson "12 x "18.

Finally ponied up for the 2 big HOFers missing from my T204 set... In hindsight, I should've started with them and went from there.

I just BIN'ed (?) a T206 Duffy yesterday, as well. Definitely another 2010 "best" for me.

Moses Yellowhorse Collection

I am happy to have completed my Moses Yellowhorse collection in 2010! First picked up his 24' Zeenut, then got his 23' Zeenut, and finally just picked up his 22' Exhibit! It was a combination of time, patience and luck! Will post once graded. Great pick-up's in 2010!

Congrats again on that Johnson/Brennan PC Joe.

This was about my only card purchase for the year and made it just recently. Nothing spectacular but has fellow Kansan Zip Zabel in it along with Larry Cheney. Due to Zabel's limited MLB experience finding anything with him on it is very difficult.

Mark, great pickup on the Brandt '34 Goudey. I have never seen a signed Brandt Goudey, and am a bit surprised one exists gven his early death (1944). That has got to be one of the keys to the "signed set".

Picked up this addition to my SGC Queen Victoria Master set and made progress on my 1933 Goudey set. Still looking for a Prince Albert(Hands Above Head or No Glove Showing), SGC 84 or better.

A very easy first choice for me. And an easy second choice too.

Holy crap! I've been a member of this board [and it's predecessor] for at least five years, and I have never seen so many collectors pick up so many big-time items in a single year. Not even close.

Thank you to all of you who share/show these pick-ups [and associated knowledge of these and other items] with the rest of us.

Best wishes to all for good health and success however you measure it in 2011.
Oh, and good luck maintaining your collecting momentum in the coming year ;)
