One thing that disappointed me about T206 Players & Their Stories

was that there were many cards/players not pictured, I was hoping to get a full breakdown of each player and variation; also the lack of information regarding backs. Just sayin'

I recommend the book but wish they had used photos of the original cards...

I was really excited to get this book... until I found out they used all reprints for the photos. That was a waste of paper, who wants to look at a reprint?

Maybe the author will do a 2nd revised edition and do it right with original cards... even using a bunch of beaters would be 100x better than reprints!!!

The authors said their point was to place the emphasis on the stories of the players and not on the cards themselves, which was the reason for the reprints.

But it's difficult to focus on the story when your eye is drawn to the reprint picture. It takes something away from the credence of the book in my opinion. I enjoyed many of the stories, but the reprints definitely were an eyesore.

and another thing

Yes, that's right I forgot about that element (reprints used) which also pizzed me off. And another thing, the stat box only has their batting averages and not all their stats like homeruns, rbis, etc.

Still a very worthwhile addition...I am a pretty deep baseball fan and there were a lot of things I didn't know.

I think the reprints were put there for a purpose. They are now selling reprints and all kinds of cards in connection to the book. I wonder if the authors have any real T 206's.

Ditto

The use of poor reproductions was the reason I did not and will not buy. If they used pics of real "raw" cards I'm in. It could be a selling point of providing the buyer with a complete T206 set...
