Leon-Thanks for sharing the Zeenut pc once again--great image.
I have many postcards in my collection, and this one is unique. It was a different era in 1907, and I also keep in mind Jerry Seinfeld's comment, "But, that's okay." Cheers, Mike |

Found this one in an old school here in Buffalo. I grew up just around the corner from the stadium. This post card brought many memories.

Wow, those are some awesome postcards everyone !!
Tony- I love that last PC you posted, the view of the ballpark with the kids climbing the fence to see the game !! Where is that? Sincerely, Clayton |
Hi Clayton. Good to hear from you buddy. Not sure of whom the teams are, but it's a 1911 ball game being played at the Ohio/Pennsylvania League ball field in Liverpool Ohio.
Postally stamped on the reverse. That's all I really know about the piece. It's by far one of the most amazing shots I've seen on an rppc. |

What kind of PC is that Kahl, Rob? I'm not sure I've ever seen that one before.

The Kahl has an interesting history. I bought it from Lew Lipset, who bought it from Charles Bray. The thing that throws me about this one is his uniform. Scroll up in this thread, and you'll see Jeff's team composite from the series. All of the players are wearing dark jerseys with with either a "C" or "Cleveland" on the front. Yet Kahl's uniform is white. According to baseballreference.com, Kahl made his debut May 2, 1905, and his final game was Aug. 2 in that, his only major-league season. So it's not like he was a late-season addition. |
My kind of thread! Some great items posted so far. Here is a mixed bag of postcards from my shoebox.
". . Take me out with the crowd!" Recent eBay pickup. San Francisco Rec Park. Home of the Seals until 1931 or thenabouts. Another collector has this card with a 1911 postmark; mine is unused. http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...20Ballgame.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...0Park%20pc.jpg Couple of ballplayers. http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...0Wagner_13.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...ge/DMcD550.jpg Couple more. http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...c%20Brown1.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...Eller%20pc.jpg Mahalo nui loa to Frank Ward for this Red Belt variation which island-hopped to Oahu a few days ago. Howard Ehmke is depicted with Syracuse in 1916 prior to a long career in the Bigs. http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...d%20bkgrd_.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...mke%20pc_1.jpg Showed the Senators postcard a month or two back. It's date was ascertained to be 1918. I have always loved this Sportsman Park postcard, a neighbourhood ballyard, a fantasy setting. http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...20Senators.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...ans%20Park.jpg |

I bought it at the Philly show a few shows back and the dealer told me he knew of only two, the one I bought and one that was in a museum in Detroit. I'm sure there are more, but I haven't seen another. BTW, I was an underbidder on your Tigers Amer. Pub PC and the Cincy PC with Mathewson. When are you gonna let me win one?:D Mike |
