At least this is the correct answer if managers (Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda) aren't on the roster!

If managers are included in the mix, then the 1990 Reds are the correct answer.

The 1984 Tigers and 1988 Dodgers also won the World Series without a HOFer on the roster, but they were managed by Sparky Anderson and Tommy Lasorda respectively. The 1990 Reds manager was Lou Piniella.
