help identifying this Ruth card/photo
This is a small 2" x 2 1/4" black and white photo surrounded by a brown frame. It is glossy and blank backed. 2 other similar photos shown as well.

1930 Sun Pictures
I think it's a 1930 Sun Pictures Self Developing card but not positive....
|
1930's MP & Co. "Ray-o-Print". Gehrig and Ruth are the baseball subjects, obviously other personalities were also made. They were actually a "kit" where you developed pictures using the sun and a negative.

Thanks Rhett and Leon
Rhett, looks right to me. Just looked in the standard and Ruth is the only baseball player listed.
Thanks, Jeff W |
the size
The size indicates it is the Sun Pictures one I mentioned...though the SCD says 1931 for the date. These are very close to the M and P ones you mentioned Rhett.....I went from memory on my first post but then cheated when I saw what you said :)

Thanks Leon
Thanks for all you help. By the way, I put a link to Net 54 on my site.

The main value in this item (kit) is for the negative, not the prints (pictured).
Because anyone who has a negative can make many prints and still do so today. The prints pictured look like there are made recently. |

I know this post was back in 2009, however, I am trying to research a similar (or same) card. I cannot see the original photos in this message so I am uploading the one I am trying to find out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you |
I can't say as I don't have it in hand, but that could be an original.
|
It measures almost 2 inches X 2 1/2 inches.
|
The back of the photo is toned, and, while one has to examine a photo in person, toning like that is a good sign of old age for photos.

I found it, Ray-O-Prints

Here is a BABE RUTH RAY-O-PRINT PHOTO CARD 1934-36 MP CO on ebay. Similar to the other posted above but much clearer. I don't go looking for these but I don't recall seeing one this clear.

Flip states 1930 Ray-O-Print, but I've seen this referenced as also a 1948-49 M.P. and Co.
