New Texas Tommy variation

Another great story.....And nothing against the Beckett board but I doubt most folks over there have ever seen a real E224, let alone a type 2.

Closed @ $34.33. Someone got screwed or a really good deal.

autograf 11-05-2010 01:59 PM

+1 screwed

The thing that always worried me about CCG graded cards is that it was so easy to crack their holders and put a reprint inside instead :)

Anthony S. 11-05-2010 02:11 PM

I was under the impression that one could buy used screw-down holders for less than $34.33.

Matthew H 11-05-2010 02:28 PM

I'm pretty sure the screw-down holder is somehow fake too.

It has old rusty screws...when was it holdered, in the 1950's?

Do you know how much plastic is used by SGC/PSA/BVG? CCG was created to be the first green TPG. By re-using old slabs they extend the earth's lifespan by thousands of years.

what if it was real? all pricing on these cards i have seen are crazy

canjond 11-05-2010 09:26 PM

No reason to speculate... most certainly a fake.

as jon suggests,

even crazy pricing can't make this one real.

what im saying if it was real they take a chance its just the same as buying $35 in lottery tickets.

Leon 11-06-2010 07:36 AM

No, it's not the same as a lottery ticket. There is a one in a gazillion chance of winning the lottery. That is still better (ask a winner) than 0% chance of this card being real. If someone is so inclined to bid on a card that is fake, just send me half the money and don't bid, then they will still be ahead :).

They are lithographic, I guess. They aren't real photos. It's super easy, with the internet, to compare them. As we have oft discussed there is nothing like holding a card in your hands and getting the "feel" of it. Any comparison would show that the type 1's are not blank backed. This is a generous 20 but still a neat card. regards
