Who is doing a R328 US Caramel set?
 

In my escapades of watching sets, collecting type cards, and doing a little buying and selling, it seems that the US Caramel set has a few cards that might be scarcer than others. When I do a search on ebay I find most of the set ....and in the current Legendary auction there is a set minus 2 cards. We all know the Lindstrom card is one of the biggies in the hobby with only 2 known (I believe). In addition to that, the set in the Legendary auction is missing Cobby. In my recent search on ebay I saw most of the cards but not the Cobby. So, for anyone that is doing, or has done, the set is the Cobby any tougher than any others? Besides that and Lindstrom are any of them scarcer than the others? Although R328 is a tribute type set it is still a period caramel set with a lot of high end HOF'ers in it, which makes it a neat set to collect. best regards

I have had most of a low grade set for years, but really haven't done anything about finishing it.

I am still missing Bobby Jones, Gehrig, Grove, and Ruth.

Except for the Lindstrom, the Jones seems the hardest to find, but I think it's more a demand issue than a supply issue.

Did anyone ever do a checklist of what was in the large U.S. Caramel find of about twenty years ago? Besides dozens of high grade cards, the first Lindstrom, a canceled one, was discovered. Before that nobody knew if card #16 ever existed, or who was on it. If I remember correctly the early guides speculated that it was Joe Kuhel.

The Cobb is pretty plentiful. In fact, I recall seeing an SGC 8 Cobb in a recent auction, not sure which.

I guess I just haven't seen as many. JimVB is probably correct too, in that the demand (and less turnover) for a Cobby might be more than most others, making it seem more scarce than it is.

. . . that I found Bobby Jones to be more difficult to locate than the others, including Cobb. But, I too, was focused on purchasing lesser grade examples.

That's a nice one alright. Even though I seem to have recently seen less Cobbs than others in the set, and Jones seems to be tough too, but again, both of those cards might be the cards folks would keep for a type from the set. regards

I think Tunney may be the most difficult, don't see him often. Not many Sarazens either.
