I know this isn't what you asked, but if I knew about this card it would've sold for more. I've seen dealers ask $1K + for commons, which I promptly pass on and is higher than you can get them at auction. I'm no expert, but I'd expect to pay somewhere in the 500-700 range for a common in f-g condition. As has been said before, they're not too tough unless you're looking for a particular player.

ok i know they are tough and expensive. you have deep pockets to buy to buy one ok.

I might add that E107s are very tough in VG+ condition. The majority are in Good or worse shape.

esd10 10-26-2010 07:00 AM

i wouldnt care if it was creased all over the card and skinned and a chunk out of the corner. it could be a sgc negative 10 i would buy it.:)

That Hickman was a very good buy. Presents well and all of the reverse print is intact. Congrats to the buyer.

That Hickman was a great deal. That is a decent looking example compared with the vast majority out there. E107s are very tough. Others may be more knowledgeable, but I would guess there are less than 10 of any given card with many having less than 5.

imo....very cheap.

In my opinion that is a bit less than half of where that card should have sold for.....but that is what we are seeing nowadays, unless you go to auction and 2 people start a battle. Had I seen that I would have bought it, put it in an auction format, and made good money....no doubt about it. (again, my opinion)

I think the card sold for that price because of how it was listed.

That's one example in which the seller not knowing the ACC # of a card hurt the hammer price. I'm assuming there's a few potential bidders out there with saved e107 Ebay searches who never saw that card.

You are right Anthony, I never saw that card and I check ebay a couple of times daily. :(

E 107

Man, add me to the list that never saw that recent ebay listing. 300.00 for an E 107 in that shape, ouch, listed properly I`m guessing double that minimum.

I did see it. Unfortunately, I was the very disappointed underbidder. The seller had a couple of ungraded T206's for sale. I sent him a message asking about combined shipping. He replied that the shipping cost was the same no matter how many cards I bought. So I clicked on "All Items For Sale" under his profile page and I saw the E107. I thought I knew what it was, but I wasn't really sure at first as I don't know much about the set at all. So I went to OldCardboard.com for verification. Yep...that's what I thought it was! By now there was only a couple of minutes left in the auction so I didn't have time to do any more research. All I could think of was a post by a board member saying that he hoped to have "one" example some day. I knew they were rare, but had no idea of value. I checked my Paypal account to see how much money I had in it. $300. I put a last second bid down for $300 and lost. It really sucked, but I got over it.....until this stupid thread came up.

E107s are easily one of the toughest caramel sets. It has been commented elsewhere that nobody has ever put together a complete set of them... though a couple are close. To me, that speaks volumes. I did not see that Hickman or I would've picked it up personally. I regularly search for E107s, but missed that one.

There is an E107 Hall of Famer listed in the upcoming Heritage Auction.

(Full disclosure... I consigned it to them.)

Not to worry, everyone will get a chance to bid on it again. It will be in an SGC holder in our next B&L Auction in February. I just received it from the winning ebay bidder/consignor this morning.

E107/Heritage

I guess this is as good a place to ask as any. If anybody is bidding on the lot of 12 in the current Heritage Auction, I am interested in the Selbach.
