T206/T212 Question

I was wondering if there is a list of the players that overlap and appear in both sets T206/T212 Obak. If I remember right there are quite a few players. I am considering doing a set of Obaks as I have about 30 of them that I picked up at show a few years ago. Thanks in advance... Ralph

At the moment I can only think of Chester Chadbourne and Chick Gandil. There could be more. The Obak cards were printed by a different printer, for a different tobacco company from the the white border tobacco cards. I don't think there's significant overlap.

I've not seen such a list, but would be interested in it. Maybe this thread will result in a list.

If I recall correctly, there is an Ames in the T212 set. Is that the same Ames in the T206 set?

Regards,

Richard.

Chester who?

Seriously though....

Both Roy Brashear and Frank Arellanes appear in both t206 and T212.

The Ames in T212 is Rex. Not one and the same.

Chester Chadbourne... with Indianapolis in the white border set, and with Portland with the Obaks. Chet Chadbourne.

And I should have thought about Arellanes. I have one of his cards loose, sitting out on a keyboard beside me.

So what we have for now is?

Arellanes
Brashear
Chadbourne
Gandil

A short list.

I don't think Chadbourne is in T206.

Steve, I agree with you on that, I was mistaken.

Arellanes
Brashear
Gandil

a shorter list.

rp12367 10-11-2010 09:17 PM

3 more?

I also think these 3. Thanks for helping guys...

Armbuster
Stovall
Willet

I think the Obak Stovall is Jesse, the T206 is George

Neither the Armbruster nor the Willett are the same players in the respective sets.

Another crossover card.

How about Fred Abbott (Toledo) -> Los Angeles in 1911

I know off the top of my head in addition to the ones already mentioned the following 3 players are found in both T206 and T212. There are probably others but I haven't really sat own and studied the checklists.

-Shad Barry
-Izzy Hoffman
-Hunky Shaw

Maybe tonight I will look at them a little closer.
