To bid or not to bid?

I would like to bid on this card but I have a funny feeling that he does not have it. Your thoughts?

I would ask him to write something on a post it note (or a piece of paper) and scan the card with the note next to it.

(Edited out my smart ass comment, because Leon moved it to the correct board.)

Yikes...Not as angry as some. What makes you think he does not have it? I am curious and probably a little naive.

Jim,
You know how it is. On a slow news day there is no telling what might end up on the front page.

I love the skepticism here.

It looks like the seller used the same scanner with the same cropping to list both cards they have for sale.

There is a post-war board. But I'm sure you knew that.

Wouldn't a scammer find a better quality card to use as the bait?

I'm guessing a good scammer would want to fly under the radar and not go for the obvious. If it's actually a scam, they are making 100% profit so why get too greedy and draw more attention to yourself?
