RIP George.....
I remember watching him play. The little bio said he retired right at 49 yrs of age (my age now). I can't imagine tieing my shoe without pulling some muscle let alone playing pro football. Another great one gone... |
My 9-year-old daugher and I were just out to eat, and I saw the news on TV. When they flashed that he had played 26 seasons in the NFL, I started doing the math to figure out what year would have been my last in the minor leagues had I played that long. It would have been 2009. I actually retired from pro ball in 1989. When I think of everything that has happened in my life since then, it boggles my mind that he played in the NFL that long.
