Cards that could have been

Like another of others I like to make my own cards on occasion. Some of you have probably seen these before on other boards, but thought I would share here as well. I'm a life long Cardinals fan so the cards tend to be a little Cardinals heavy. :D

For what it's worth I like your '63 Rose much better than the real one. :)

HRBAKER 09-22-2010 05:01 PM

There is several years of Topps Musials that you could fill in. Great work. The '64 Stand Up is of a real stand up guy! :D

Beatles Guy 09-22-2010 06:23 PM

As a Cardinals fan myself, I give you two thumbs up. Great cards!

ALR-bishop 09-23-2010 07:15 AM

Cardinals

Great stuff. Do you sell them ? If so let me know in pm.

Was at 64, 67, 68, 82, 85, 87, 04 and 06 Series in St Louis

HeritageAddict 09-23-2010 07:25 AM

Wow, that's quite a run of series games! Biggest game I've been to was opening day at the new Busch.

HeritageAddict 09-23-2010 09:59 AM

Here are a few non-Cardinals, sorry but a few are pre-war. The 41 feller and 52 Rogers look a little funny, but they are my first attempts at colorizing B&W photos.

My favorites are the 1957 Musial and the 1971 Perez. They both look like the "real thing". It's too bad they didn't actually make that 57 Musial!

Works of Art

Heritage Addict took two cuts that I had of Musial and Boyer and created these. Couldn't be more pleased.

A couple that will be made into cuts for a board member.

Doran,
Beauties. I'll try a get a hold of cuts small enough for them in short order.

Great work! You have a very good eye for capturing the details of card design, typography, and image quality for the era. I dabble in these as well and the guys on here might like to see a few examples...

Fantastic stuff, I was hoping more people would jump in with their customs.

con40 10-01-2010 04:52 PM

Thank you... many of these have actually been able to find their way to print over the years... you mentioned that you print yours. How do you do it?

Doug 10-01-2010 04:58 PM

Wow, these are amazing!

paul 10-01-2010 09:29 PM

I don't have the talent to do these, but I'd love to see a 1977 Dick Allen with the A's.

Beatles Guy 10-02-2010 09:23 AM

Fabulous work. I love looking at these.

David Bender 10-03-2010 08:49 AM

This was created using MS Paint, so please excuse the quality:

GasHouseGang 10-04-2010 05:40 PM

That begs the question, how do you guys create these? They are fabulous. What program do you use?

HeritageAddict 10-04-2010 05:44 PM

I use adobe photoshop.

HeritageAddict 10-05-2010 08:06 PM

May be a little while before I post any new cards, I've got the new photoshop suite coming this week....may take me awhile to learn my way around it....then again I may not be able to learn it at all.

Leon 10-06-2010 06:52 AM

great stuff

Great stuff here. Thanks so much for posting. Those are some fabulous cards!! Thanks HeritageAddict.

Big Six 10-06-2010 07:27 AM

That 1980 Munson is amazing. If only Topps had thought of that...if you ever figure out a way to print one of those up, I'd gladly take one...my first baseball hero as a kid.

Big Six... The Munson actually was printed as a promo for a regional card show in New England... most of the cards I've made have been offset printed on real card stock.

PM me if you are interested.

Funny on the 59 Wills

He signed some cards for the 2008 Topps Heritage Update product, so there is a legit "59" Topps Maury Wills issued by Topps

Regards
Rich

Great cards everyone! These are truly amazing.
Here's a few i'd like to see:
1974 Fred Lynn, Jim Rice, Bill Madlock (not the 4/1 little card)
1969 Bill Lee, Roger Maris, Jim Bouton
1952 and 1953 Bowman Ted Williams

Thanks to everyone for posting these fun cards.

A New Custom "Cut"

A new custom "Cut" commissioned from Heritage Addict. A Topps '69 Ted Simmons Rookie that never was with a cut from a 3x5. Thanks HA.

edit: Sorry, my scanning skills leave a lot to be desired. Card looks great.

Challenge for all you card makers......

Awesome work guys. Would love to see what you would do with a 1961 Clemente dice game or 1959 Clemente Bazooka.

roarfrom34 11-06-2010 09:59 PM

In '74, the Sox were still wearing the navy caps with the Red "B"

very cool nonetheless!

HeritageAddict 12-06-2010 04:51 PM

Been swamped lately and haven't had a chance to work on cards much. Here is the newest.

Haven't posted anything new in awhile, HOF basketball player/coach Bill Sharman, he was in the Dodgers minor league system for 5 years. Colors are a bit off because I had to colorize a b&w image.

Nice work here!!! Seems like we all like this stuff. Maybe we can give Topps some ideas! I would like to see a series of card comparing the early 90 Braves and the present Phillies bullpens.....
