Help with Card Identification...

Please see the scan below. Has anyone seen this card or one like it before? Do you know what it is? The card measures about 2 7/8 x 4 3/8. Thanks!

Sold one at national

I think it was $25? Couldn't get much info on it.

Glyn:

Did you sell the Grove or another player?

glynparson 09-22-2010 04:47 PM

The grove

It was lefty. Did you buy it? I was hoping it would end up with u.

Don't know about the source, but that elephant looks like it was drawn by James Thurber. It has that characteristic vaguely malevolent expression.

Trivia question: What's Thurber's reported connection with MLB?

Bill

Glyn:

I do own the card shown above, but I did not buy it from you. Even so, it still could be the card that you sold at the National. Does it look like the same one?

Yes Brad it does

I could not for the life of me remember your name or I would have just emailed you directly. I put it in a folder with other people looking for stuff so if I ever get anything odd in grove again I'll just shoot you an email.

Thanks, Glyn... I appreciate it! I was at the National on Thursday and I didn't see this card. Either I missed it or it was sold before I made it to your table.
