Need help dating 1939 scorecard

Need help dating 1939 scorecard.

I have a 1939 Detroit Scorecard Yankees @ Detroit.

Front cover has an "E" in upper left corner.
Front cover has "106" lower right corner.

The program is unscored.

Pre-printed lineup , Detroit , McCosky cf, Averill lf, Gehringer 2nd,
Tebbetts, York C, Greenberg 1b, Fox rf, Higgins 3b, Rogell ss. Pitcher not listed.

Pre-printed lineup, Yankees, Crosetti ss, Rolfe 3b, Keller lf, Di Maggio cf,
Dickey, Jorgens C, Selkirk rf, Gorden 2b, Dahlgren 1b. Pitcher not listed.

Gehrig is listed at bottom with reserves.

The only three games NYY and Detroit which show match the line-ups are August 27 to 29. (I didn't do a complete check, but Keller bats third on those dates and the first three tigers match)

The retrosheet link is here http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1939/VDET01939.htm

Retrosheet is linked to this board and it's a great resource. Hit "Vintage Links" at the top, and then go to "historical sites" and you will find it. I use it all the time.

hmm

The problem with the late August series is that Hank Greenberg did not play in, much less start any of the three games. Seems odd he would be listed on your scorecard as batting cleanup when he may have been hurt.

The players names are pre-printed, not written in, if this helps.
