reasonable eBay BINs that someone else might want
This has been done on other forums and I though it might be useful here. With so many listings on eBay being done through BIN or BIN/BO and so few being done through a regular auction, many of the prices out there are very inflated. Hopefully, this type of thread could help collectors find cards they want without overpaying as much with the overpriced Buy it Nows.
If you see a reasonable BIN that you're not interested in, help your fellow collectors by posting here. |
I would like to add the same:
1965 Mickey Mantle PSA 5. VCP-$200. My BIN is $195 with free shipping. I am not trying to gouge like some other sellers who will remain nameless (everyone knows who they are however). |
I read Post #1 and think it's a good idea. 5 seconds later I read Post #2 and see it's being used for someone's own cards (post-war, no less) and realize it's a bad idea.

Amazing how quickly a nice "help out a board member" idea turned into a BST thread, huh? |
I read post #1 and thought -"pretty good idea"
I read post # 2 and thoguht- " i don't think self promotion was intended" I read post # 3 and LMAO!!!! Post # 2 , we already have a section to advertise your ebay auctions, whether they are BIN or not! I think post @ 1 meant " you might be interested, i seen this one ebay" |
"the road to hell is paved with good intentions..."
but in this case i think post #2 just misread the OP? why would you give ebay $15 for the $195 bin when you can list it on the bst for $180... |
Great idea for a thread!
This seller counter offered me for 350$ I feel they'll go lower but I lost interest: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT This is not bad: (probably could do better w/best offer) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT A beautiful card: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT These are not hard to find, but they're nice if you're lookin' for them. |
me too
I saw the first post right when it went up, wrote a response and didn't hit the respond button. I think ideas to help collectors are always good on the main board. I read the 2nd post and thought "Using it as a BST area, not so much"....regards
|
Yeah I didn't want to create a spam thread, but I think most have the right idea now. If you see something and say to yourself, that's a good deal or a fair BIN for a nice card, but you don't want it and think someone else might....post those here. :)

I'll play...
Here is a pretty tough 1934 Detroit Tigers Annis-Furs card. It's rough no doubt but it is pretty hard to find... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT |
I apologize....I guess I am guilty of misreading the thread? Just thought it was promoting BIN's that were lower than VCP average?
|
...that being said, I will play along....I offered $300, and he countered $330....I asked for a bigger scan and didn't like what I saw (surface wrinkles...several of them).....still a nice eye appeal Namath rookie, and as they say, one mans' trash is another mans' treasure......
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...TRK:MEBOFFX:IT Edited to add - I just now realized this was post war only. I will never respond to anything else again...my apologies. |
No worries....

We could start a thread about VCP averages and prices realized. They are good to have but everyone needs to dig a little deeper to see that the card(s) being talked about are visually the same. Many times they are not, so the prices have to be adjusted vs whatever else it is we are comparing them too. (I hope that makes sense). regards |
Heres a low grade T205 Bobby Wallace below BV

I'd love to watch an auction like that on ebay. Perhaps the "no buyers premium" would fetch slightly higher bids.

You don't see many of these on EBAY, price seems affordable:

Five lower lower lower (and let put emphasis on the word "lower") grade Goudey's for $20 bucks. Include a Benny that in comparison to the others is not so bad.
Lovely Day... http://cgi.ebay.com/1933-Goudey-Base...item3a5f837cb1 |
Benny Bengough

This Evers seemed reasonably priced. Probably not a steal but at least it's not listed at $150+ like similar conditioned bins |
Most of these '33 Goudey cards are trimmed. I purchased them last month and subsequently returned them. I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm obviously posting here. In my opinion, they are NOT a good buy (the antithesis of a good BIN)! Seller was notified of the trim job, plus the fact that Moe Berg is hotter then Raquel Welch. He did not bother to mention the trimming, but did take my advice on Moe.
DO NOT PURCHASE unless you like trimmed cards... http://cgi.ebay.com/1933-Goudey-Big-...-/290487482359 http://cgi.ebay.com/1933-Goudey-Big-...-/290487487609 Lovely Day... |
