old baseball
http://cgi.ebay.com/1936-ROYAL-MATCH...ht_4773wt_1139 can anyone tell me anything about this baseball
I've seen a few Royal Match baseballs over the years...if you won this auction you got a pretty good deal. Can't tell you anything about who presented it to Whetstone or why though.
dan, i did win it. what did others go for. also is that a japanese manufacturer. also would you have the ink removed in this case and is it worth it. thanks
I watched that ball until the bitter end. Just couldn't pull the trigger with all that non-baseball related ink (so I think). You got a great deal, in my mind. If it were clean, I would have expected it go for three times the price, maybe more. About a year ago, there was a horrible beater that sold for $56. That's the only other sale that I can specifically remember. The best part about that sale was the packaging. Yours is much nicer all around. Congrats.

what is the company that removes ink from baseballs, and how good is it.
Personally, i'd just leave it ....
if you guys agree to leave it alone, i will.
I'd leave it alone too. It will still display as a clean ball...What I would be doing though is trying to figure out the significance of the writing on the ball.
ive looked everywhere so far and found no info at all.
Poorly written post deleted. The short version is that I believe the last name of the signer may be Dunn/Cliffe or Junn/Cliffe rather than Junnicliffe.
My guess on the name would be Leslie Tunnicliffe (Mgr).... as for the ink, I'm with Dan, leave it alone for now. It may be baseball related, and if not, it will display nicely anyway.
o.k. ill leave it alone. i thought it said tunicliffe manager, but it lead me know where
guys, just recieved ball and its great. what do you think about removing any dirt from the box. yes or no?
